Outputs

The Pathtracer has three outputs. Connect TOPs to them like to any component's outputs.

Output Contains
Color The rendered, denoised image, 32-bit float RGBA.
Depth How far each pixel is from the camera, as a depth buffer stores it: from 0 at the camera's near plane to 1 at its far plane. The background is 1.
Normal The direction each visible surface faces, in world space. The background is (0, 0, 0).

The Color output is high dynamic range: light sources and highlights go well above 1. Tone-map or level it before showing it on screen or recording to an 8-bit format, for example with a Level TOP.

Depth and Normal describe the first surface each pixel sees. Use them for fog, for depth-based effects such as a depth fade, or to relight and outline the render.
